Forever I’ve had a project in Things titled “Blogging Strategy” that’s had exactly zero To-Dos in it. Then @manton finished his Indie Microblogging book and the project was graced with it’s first addition:

I pretty much live off of Things and since it told me that I needed to “read micro.blog book”, I read micro.blog book.

I originally created a project called Blogging Strategy out of some nebulous notion that I “needed” to write more. I like writing, I have things to say, so a blog seems like a good way for circle to get the square. But as I periodically glanced at that project in the sidebar, there’s been one question that nagged me:

Why?

“Why?” is a hard question to answer because I’m pretty good at mapping lot’s of other questions onto “Why?":

Why do I think I have time to do this?
Why do I need to say this publicly?
Why is this specific thing worth documenting?

Well shit, now “Why?” has become three questions that need three answers. And three questions are a whole lot harder to answer than one question.

So there’s really only one answer that can satisfy a vague, all-encompassing question like “Why?":

Why not?
