What a night. [Oscars Edition]

I watched Apple win on my AppleTV and listened to the sound through a stereo-pair of HomePods. Now I’m writing this on a Magic Keyboard attached to an iMac attached to a Studio Display (yeah, you read that right. Mac Studio still isn’t here). It’s really snuck up on me how everywhere Apple is. I’m not sure I’m ready for the future of conglomerates– even Apple– controlling the whole stack.

We’ve staged better renditions of We Don’t Talk about Bruno in my basement

I liked CODA, but it was by far my least favorite of the nominated movies I’ve seen. There’s a lot that I need to see (most of all: Licorice Pizza and the Worst Person in the World) before making the final call here, but right now Belfast is my current favorite.

Just cold takes here on the Will Smith/Chris Rock kerfuffle.

  • I’m not sure there’s ever a good reason to walk on a stage and slap someone for something they say.
  • If Will Smith did everything exactly the same except for hit Chris Rock, there would be zero people on Team Chris Rock.
  • Woof– what an acceptance speech. I’m not even going to try to unpack it because my feelings keep shifting on it. Right now, I’m mainly just sad for Serena and Venus.
